Chris Trevor | Founder

Chris, more affectionately known as CT, was born and bred in Central Queensland. He completed his Articles of Clerkship locally and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia in 1985. Chris founded Chris Trevor and Associates in 2001 and put practicing law on hold in 2004 to serve as an elected Gladstone City Councillor.

In 2007 CT was then elected Federal Member for Flynn. Among CT's charitable pursuits are two walks: from Gladstone to Brisbane raising money for Leukaemia (2005) and Mackay to Gladstone raising money for Mens Prostate Cancer, Volunteer Marine Rescue Gladstone and Legacy Gladstone (2006).

Robin Berthelsen | Solicitor

Robin was born and bred in Gladstone and completed both her primary and secondary schooling here. She commenced 5 year Articles of Clerkship with Chris Trevor and Associates in 2002 and became admitted as a Solicitor in 2007, receiving honours in her Bachelor of Laws degree.

Robin practices primarily in personal injury law however, she also has previous experience in commercial law, wills and estates and also conveyancing. Robin became the Principal of Chris Trevor and Associates on 1 July 2010.

Robin is also a member of the Queensland Law Society Accident Compensation/Tort Law Committiee which ensures she keeps abreast of developments and potential changes to personal injury law that may impact upon her clients.

Margaret Esdale | Solicitor

As the firm’s senior associate, Margaret practices predominantly in the area of personal injury compensation. Margaret is a Central Queensland local, moving to Brisbane only while completing her university studies. Since 1998 she has worked in law firms in Mackay and Gladstone. Margaret enjoys getting to know her clients and finding out their stories. She then applies her knowledge of the law to achieve the best possible result for the client.

Soon after joining Chris Trevor & Associates in January 2004, it wasn’t long before her client care and knowledge of the law were recognized among the legal fraternity when she became the first Queensland solicitor to successfully test the new legislation for people injured in motor vehicle accidents.

Margaret is a compassionate solicitor who works tirelessly in support of her client’s claims.

Catherine Benson | Solicitor

Catherine Benson, Special Counsel, has more than 24 years experience, in family law. Catherine practiced at the Queensland Bar for 9 years before making the choice to join us here in Gladstone. In her role as a barrister she appeared regularly in both the Federal Magistrates Court and the Family Court, including the Court of Appeal.

As a solicitor, Catherine trained as an Independent Children's Lawyer and in 1996 became one of the first group of Queensland lawyers to be recognised as an Accredited Specialist in family law, a title she continues to hold today.

Catherine has also achieved qualifications as a mediator and has vast experience in negotiating, in both informal and formal settings. Her strong point is being able to see the big picture for her clients, and thinking outside the square, to find a solution that best fits her client's particular needs. Coupled with her extensive advocacy experience, Catherine is best placed to ensure your matter is fully prepared for any necessary Court proceedings in the event other options do not achieve the required result.

Sarah Lock | Workplace Law Consultant

Sarah Lock has practised as a solicitor in Brisbane in the area of employment law and currently she is working within her own consultancy as a workplace law consultant. Sarah has extensive experience and knowledge in the area of industrial relations, employment law and human resources within the public and private sectors. She has been employed in previous roles with the Queensland Government’s Corrective Services, Queensland Health, QCCI (Chamber of Commerce), Queensland Newspapers (Courier Mail/Sunday Mail), Rio Tinto/CRA (Boyne Smelter) and private law practice.

With her experience spanning over 15 years in the industrial relations/workplace law arenas, over time Sarah has developed an excellent and insightful appreciation of the issues concerning small to large business in this regard and the ongoing problems faced by employees on a day to day basis.

Sarah completed high School in Gladstone, before studying a Bachelor of Business (Industrial Relations) at QUT, Gardens Point Brisbane. Sarah has worked as a graduate at Queensland Alumina and as an Industrial Relations/HR Specialist at Boyne Smelters. At this time she was studying her law degree part time before being offered a full scholarship to attend Bond University on the Gold Coast. Sarah was then admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland and also the High Court of Australia in 2000.
